CASA BALAGUER - LA RAMBLA DEL PELIGRÉS
Casa Balaguer was set up in 2000 by the renowned oenologist and champion of Alicante wine development, Rafa Bernabé. Marta Ribera and Andrés Carull, from Vinessens, acquired the estate in 2017, forming what is now Casa Balaguer-Vinessens, which continues to offer garage wines that showcase the excellence of old native variety vines.
Half of the grapes that go into this wine are fermented whole-cluster in concrete fermenters, while the other half is destemmed and ferments in concrete fermenters as well. Once done with fermentation the wine is lightly pressed and aged in concrete for 5 months before bottling. This garnacha is juicy and full of energy!
